Why Do they call it Chocolate Hills

While the correct name is "Chocolate Hills," not "Chochole Hills," these iconic geological formations are a must-see destination in Bohol. The Chocolate Hills consist of more than 1,200 perfectly cone-shaped hills spread across the island's landscape. During the dry season, the grass-covered hills turn brown, resembling chocolate kisses, hence the name.

Visitors can marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views of the Chocolate Hills from several vantage points, including the Chocolate Hills Complex in Carmen. Here, you can climb up to an observation deck and enjoy sweeping views of the rolling hills stretching as far as the eye can see.

Exploring the Chocolate Hills is a popular activity for tourists visiting Bohol, offering opportunities for photography, nature walks, and cultural experiences. Whether you're admiring the landscape from afar or trekking through the hills, a visit to the Chocolate Hills promises a memorable and enchanting experience in the heart of Bohol.
